
2017 Tempranillo
Amphora Tempranillo is made from fruit grown at 220m above sea level and is delicious served with chorizo, jamon, grilled and roasted lamb, roasted tomatoes and soft cheeses
Clones – Instituto Tecnologico Agrario de Castilla y Leon numbering system: Tinta del Pais, clones CL-32, Cl – 98 and CL – 261, Tinta de Toro clones CL – 306 and CL -326,
Grown on granitic soils at 220m above sea level in Geographe Wine Region, WA
and Hand harvested 14 March, 2017
Destemmed with gentle crushing and placed in 2 x 800 litre terracotta amphorae with 10% whole bunches.
Wild yeast fermentation took place and after 3 weeks it was gentle basket pressed and racked back to the amphorae
The wine was left on gross lees for 6 month before being racked and bottled on 12 December 2017.
COLOUR: Garnet red
NOSE: Spice, licorice, plums
PALATE: Lush texture with blackberries and some cocoa, soft and long velvety tannins
